Case Study: Trust for Public Land
Communications strategy • thought leadership + awards • events + engagements
Trust for Public Land
Our journey with The Trust for Public Land (TPL) began with a mission to elevate the organization’s innovative work in land conservation and sustainably adapted infrastructure solutions. A well-established nonprofit organization, TPL sought to increase momentum by targeting exposure to the right audiences. With this approach in mind, and with the ultimate goal to drive support for our nation’s public open space, we focused on a thought leadership approach to help position TPL as a key driver transforming communities and affecting people’s health, protecting biodiversity and land, and designing more resilient cities.
What we did
In order to achieve this goal, we secured high-visibility speaking engagements for TPL’s executive team on various platforms, including onstage presentations at events and interviews with influential media. We secured TPL’s Climate Program Director a spot at the 2015 VERGE and WorldFuture conferences to speak on “Climate Smart Cities: Solutions for Climate Change Mitigation and Resilience.” This initiative focuses on making GIS data more accessible through increased public-private partnerships and the positive impacts green infrastructure has on cities and urban landscapes.
Other venues we strategically positioned the leadership team included WSJ ECOnomics, SXSW Eco, Fortune Brainstorm Green, Dwell on Design (NYC, LA), NRPA National Conference, Urban Land Institute Fall meeting, among others.
